There are objectively just too many shows about rich people.

That’s because all the rich people agreed that shows about rich people and how awful they are is where the money is.

I am at the point where I automatically tune out anything about a rich asshole. Succession was great because it was FUNNY. But I don’t need any more of it.

It’s not gonna be better than Succession.

I want to be in a Hollywood TV writers room for a lot of reasons, but writing not-rich characters is my reason #1!

Well I loved these thoughts for so many reasons. This part reminded me of something: "I’m generally disgusted by the good taste more people have in music these days, because it doesn’t tell me where you’ve been or who you are. Before streaming, the music you liked told me a lot about you, and now, it doesn’t." I remember my older punk bf in Cleveland telling me to be careful before I moved to Chicago. he said "You'll see a guy in a flannel and a white belt and converse and you'll think he listens to good music but he DOESN'T. he's just a hipster." it was a very early iteration of what we have today just a lot less digitized. I was very adjacent to hipsters, but was always way too into music (and caring about things/politics) to ever be a hipster. Were they a proto-type influencer? it's also funny because I used to *really* need friends and partners who liked the Right Things (mainly music, also movies mattered). But that's pretty faded. It's really *fun* when my friends and I like the same thing (and I'm tickled with Peter's very chaotic musical history---he was never deep in a scene enough to have a whole catalogue of cool bands, but he was friends with hardcore and indie kids, so he has random favorites that surprise and delight me), but yeah, more important if they're good people.
